Krishna, one of the human forms Vishnu takes, is well known for his love of trickery and fun. Just like the god it celebrates, Holi is meant to be a joyous celebration. Part of the festival will be taken up by throwing colored powder or water and by playing tricks.
Throughout the celebration there will be prayers, especially at the regular Holi bonfire. Other festivities usually include dancing, mock bamboo stick battles, beating of drums, and sometimes there are parades with ornately decorated floats!
Sweet foods are also a highlight of the Holi festival. Foods like the snack gujiya, and the flavored milk thandai, are traditional foods of Holi.
Since the heart of Holi is having fun, all participants are sure to have a great time!
